Israel: a mix between the expected and the unexpected

I can't believe it has been more than a week since I came back from the Holy Land.I still miss it and want to go back there to see all the places I haven't seen yet.And trust me, 4 days is a ridiculously short amount of time to spend there.

Why 4 days ,you ask? Firstly,I'm a student and secondly,I'm a student :) In other words, staying for a shorter amount of time means spending less money(at least it should) and I also went on this trip during the academic year(yes, I skip classes quite a lot-that's what happens when you don't like what you're studying)

So,if you ever wanted to travel to Israel but thought "It's too expensive!" or "I'm gonna die in  a terrorist attack!" ,think again because none of it is true if you find a cheap flight and avoid eye contact with strange looking men on the street so you don't get unwanted attention (common sense, right?).

I am of course writing this from a young woman's perspective, but anyone can take something from my positive experience in Israel.
How much did I pay for my trip?

I flew with WizzAir ,a Hungarian low cost company, which I consider to be one of the cheapest ,most reliable airlines, with a wide range of travel destinations to choose from  (and no,they did not pay me to say that). I booked the tickets 2 months in advance and payed almost 70 euros for a round trip.Oh...and my route was Bucharest Otopeni- Tel Aviv Ben Gurion :)

What other costs did my trip imply?
Well,I used Couchsurfing to find accommodation and great people to host me and hang out with . My entire perspective on traveling has changed since using this amazing site to find friendly, awesome, lovely people (again, I wasn't bribed by the site or the awesome, lovely people to say that).
Of course,I payed for train tickets and bus tickets to and from Jerusalem -everything was about 66 shekels (19 dollars/14 euros) .
The rest depends on how much you want to go out,eat in fancy restaurants or attend I don't know what music gigs.

Israeli customs? !

Not cool, bro ,not cool. If it's your first time in Israel and you're using Couchsurfing to find accommodation they might give you a funny look and ask you tons and tons of question before giving you a visa. Also, when you leave the country ,your luggage will get checked. As in "let's take everything  out and make you pack your bag again" kind of checked. Jolly good times at the airport. Other than that, everything's great .

What did I eat? Can I recommend any dishes?
Oooh..wait for it...falafel! What were you expecting? It's tasty, cheap and probably not that healthy.Still better than McDonald's .

Tip: If the guy selling falafel asks you if you like spicy and your first instinct is to say "no",say "no" .Otherwise you might have to drink lots of water after that.

Also, Tahini sauce is cool. And you should try a freshly made juice in one of the many markets in Israel.Make sure you get a not so usual combination like the passion fruit-banana-forgot the other one that I tried at shuk HaCarmel in Tel Aviv. Also expect to pay for it as much as you would pay for your train ticket from Tel Aviv HaHagana to Ben Gurion aiport.

Tel Aviv vs.Jerusalem

With an equal amount of time spent in both of the cities, I can make a very subjective comparison.
If you're more religious, you'll love Jerusalem. If you're not religious, you'll love Jerusalem anyway.
If you love getting a tan in November, you'll love Tel Aviv. If you like to party ,you'll love Tel Aviv even more.If you're more the religious type than the "get drunk and forget where I live" type, get on a bus and go to Jerusalem.

What did I see in Jerusalem in 2 days?
The Old City-have no idea how much of it.I got lost there every time.More specifically- The Church of the Holy Sepulchre ,Via Dolorosa-or at least a part of it , a lot of market vendors, the Wailing Wall
The Garden of Ghetsimani and the Church of Agony,The Church of Mary's Tomb - It took me forever to get there by foot and with a shitty map.
Mamilla, some parts of the city center, an awesome place where you could see the city from above(oh wait, there were a lot of such places)
I also saw some pubs and walked along Jaffa street quite a lot.
What did I see in Tel Aviv in 2 days?

The beach. The Old City-awesome tour guide by the way. Some parts of the city center. More beach.
Shuk HaCarmel. A really awesome ice cream place.More beach. I also walked from the HaCarmel area to HaHagana train station at 5 in the morning. Not advisable for women to do on their own, but allows you to see a different face of the otherwise bustling, lively Tel Aviv.

Would I go back?

Where's that plane ticket? Gimme it! I'm free tomorrow :) I can stay for a few weeks..or months.

What did I miss?
The Dead Sea, Haifa, Bethlehem ,Nazareth, some hiking...oh,I need to make a list .

Advice for anyone planning on going to the Holy Land?
Be patient and polite at customs. If you're a young lady traveling by herself, cover yourself. And don't look at men unless you want a creepy pseudo- date with them.
Try some local food and meet with locals to have a truly awesome experience.

Pictures?

Why yes of course.

Wailing Wall

Stairs leading to the Wailing Wall
Entrance to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Mount of Olives
Garden of Ghetsimani

Neighborhood in Jerusalem

The beach in Tel Aviv
"Flying" orange tree,Tel Aviv- Jafo

Nice contrast between the old and the new

Another tip : Don't take selfies when you're lost, tired and hungry
There is so much more to say about Israel but you have to go on your own and experience for yourself. Israel is not an exotic destination for rich, adventurous people. Ok,maybe you have to be  a little bit adventurous...but admit it,your personality has that side too :)

Happy travels!

Portrait: Cara Delevingne + GoFundMe Campaign

Hola!

I'm back with a new portrait after quite a long time. I did this portrait back in summer but I didn't like how some parts turned out so I kept postponing this post. I'm finally posting it now, even though I'm not 100 % happy with it.

I've also recently come back from Israel and it was quite the experience.I might write a post about it in the near future. What do you think?
I've also started a campaign on gofundme.com to raise money for a big tour of Europe I'm planning for next summer. I would deeply appreciate it if you could share it on social media or help me in any way you can (my link) :)

As usual, I'm waiting for your portrait suggestions in the comments.

Have a super happy evening :D

Jaybird-The ultimate experience

Hello ,lovely people of the world!

Today I want to write about  two topics that are close to my heart :music and sport. I don’t know about you, but exercising, jogging and even walking are not the same without a beat to accompany them. Music has always been a passion of mine, whether it was singing or just listening to it. I  wasn’t that big of a sports enthusiast when I was a kid and even during my teenage years  I remember my mother nagging me about going outside and taking walks
.
That has changed over the past couple of years and I try to be as active as possible, even though I don’t have a specific routine that I follow. This year I thought I’d give jogging a go but  I could not imagine jogging without some headphones on.

When I heard of Jaybird, I immediately thought of my experience with sports and headphones.  BlueBuds X –this is the name of the headphones-is a product that would probably be very helpful to anybody out there who likes to listen to music while he/she trains.

How many times were you jogging/walking  and your headphones fell out of your ears? I find that this happens to me so many times I get quite annoyed :) I have to stop whatever I’m doing and adjust my headphones. I hate it especially when I’m dancing. The thing about BlueBuds X that I like most is that it has what they call Secure Fit-meaning you don’t have to worry about your headphones falling out.
Another  interesting fact about BlueBuds X is that they are the smallest Bluetooth  headphones available. Despite their  size,  you can listen to music or take phone calls for up to 8 hours. That sounds pretty cool to me.
One  thing that I haven’t thought about  before  is the way sweat affects your headphones. It’s obvious that you involuntarily sweat when you exercise and some serious exercising causes some serious sweating :)  So the people from Jaybird  decided to create these headphones which have lifetime warranty against sweat.

X-Fit  is a feature that enables you to lift the cord off your neck which would make the headphones even more comfortable .You might even forget you have headphones on. BlueBuds X are compatible to pretty much any device, be it Ipod, Ipad, Android or whatever else you can think of. Your device can be used anywhere on your body without it blocking the signal. So if you decide to leave your phone in your bag and start your workout at some distance ,the signal will stay the same .

The BlueBuds X come in 3 sizes (S,M and L) and two colors: Midnight Black and Storm White.
Oh! By the way, they are the official training headphones for the USA Triathlon :) If that’s not awesome enough, you have the chance to win a pair of headphones every day by entering on their website or on my blog(low right corner).

If you want to buy  the BlueBudsX now, go to their store and have fun picking the color :)

Review& Giveaway:GungHo or how to give your brain a boost!

Hello lovely people of the world!

Autumn has finally come!(not that I missed it) You know what that means, right? Coming home from the wonderful summer holidays and starting school/work again.
In my case, college. And if you're a student yourself, you probably go to sleep after midnight and wake up early in the morning just to find yourself falling asleep in class and wondering what the heck you're doing wrong. So when I got the opportunity to try out GungHo,a drink that claims to boost your energy and focus, I did a "happy dance " :)

I got my trial pack which looks like this and consists of 3 little pouches(I had already tried one):

Let me tell you what I think of it and what effects it had on me.
As it says on the package, I drank GungHo after having eaten something(namely breakfast) .The taste is bitter, sweet and sour at the same time, which is great with me.It's not your typical artificial soda flavor.

I went on with my day(which was my day off actually) ,but I did use my brain to learn some new Finnish words(as I'm in the process of learning Finnish at the moment). I can tell you this : I did feel more energetic than usual (not hyper or anything, just more awake :) ) and I was more productive in the Finnish department. It was literally past midnight and my brain would still keep me awake and make me practice Finnish in my head.

So,for me, it did have an effect.A good one.Not to mention the packaging is cute:D
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got you interested? Want to give your brain a boost and stay awake for a college party? :D Or maybe stay awake to learn,if you are that type of student.Or maybe you're not a student. Doesn't matter.

3 of you wonderful readers will win a trial-pack so you can test GungHo for yourself! :D Yay,that's exciting!* happy dance*

It's international, too :D  Just complete the entries in Rafflecopter. Have fun!

Quick and tasty dinner:Pasta and 2 sauce alternatives!

Hello there! Moi! Aloha! :)

I know,it looks as if I've abandoned the blog .I can't believe it's almost 2 months since I last posted something. My excuse for the lack of content is : a) I traveled to Finland in July-August for a little over 2 weeks and b) I've been in a post-vacation sad mood ever since I got back .

It was a lovely WWOOF-ing experience in Southern Finland, but this is post is not going to be about that.If you want me to dedicate an article to my volunteering experience(and how you can travel very cheap  in exchange for volunteering),please do let me know !

Today's article is about pasta and 2 delicious sauces that you can prepare in under 15 minutes .I don't know what it is about pasta but I'm sure you've noticed that people of all ages love it,including kids(and you know how hard it is to get kids to eat ).

The pasta I use for these sauces is either gnocchi or fusilli.Of course you can also use ditalini, gomiti, penne rigate or any other exotic sounding pasta you can find :) I don't recommend spaghetti or any thin type of pasta.

I'm a tomato person.I love tomatoes to death and I used to eat pasta only with tomato sauce but  today's recipes are for "white" sauces.

A. Alfredo sauce

200 ml milk (200 ml lapte)
1/2 tbsp butter (1 lingura unt)
1/2 tbsp all purpose flour (1/2 lingura faina)
3 tbsp grated hard cheese (3 linguri cascaval ras)
2 garlic cloves,minced (2 catei de usturoi,tocati marunt)
a pinch of salt and ground black pepper (sare si piper dupa gust)

Melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour, stirring constantly.(Topiti untul la foc mediu.Adaugati faina, amestecand constant.)
Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly.(Adaugati laptele gradual, amestecand constant)
Add the grated hard cheese, minced garlic, salt and pepper and let it simmer for 2 more minutes.(Adaugati cascavalul ras, usturoiul tocat, sare si piper si lasati amestecul la foc mic inca 2 minute)

B.Mushroom sauce

3 tbsp butter (3 linguri unt)
1 onion,minced (1 ceapa uscata,tocata marunt)
2 cloves garlic,minced( 2 catei de usturoi,tocati marunt)
115 grams fresh mushrooms,sliced ( 115 g ciuperci proaspete,taiate)
1/2 tsp dried basil( 1/2 lingurita busuioc uscat)
1/4 tsp salt (1/4 lingurita sare)
1/8 tsp ground black pepper (1/8 lingurita piper macinat)
30 g all purpose flour(30 g faina)
250 ml milk( 250 ml lapte)

Melt the butter over medium heat.Add the onion and garlic and saute about 3-5 minutes until the onion is translucent.Add mushrooms, basil, salt and pepper and saute 5 to 10 more minutes.(Topiti untul la foc mediu.Adaugati ceapa si usturoiul si caliti 3-5 minute pana cand ceapa devine translucida.Adaugati ciupercile, busuiocul, sarea si piperul si lasati amestecul pe foc inca 5-10 minute.)

Remove pan from the heat and add the flour. Adaugati laptele gradual, amestecand constant)

Return the pan to heat until sauce thickens and comes to a boil.Reduce heat and let it simmer for 2 more minutes.(Readuceti vasul pe foc si lasati-l pana cand sosul se ingroasa si da in clocot.

Bon appetit !

The artsy corner : Poetry

Hi guys!
It's Friday once again and you know what that means: let's go dancing and have fun 'cause it's the weekend ☺ No,but really...a little dancing won't hurt.
Today I was debating whether to make a Favorite Friday post or go with my artistic impulse.Guess who won..That's right, I want to share two sad  poems with you today. Why sad? Because that's the only way I write poems .

Dance

A single thought that makes your mind race fast
And brings your wandering soul into the past
Relive the moments,smiles and laughter
And think again, before and after

Where were your thoughts before we met?
'Cause all you eyes show is regret
Don't waste a single minute more
I needn't have shown you the door

And as your thoughts go on each day
They never stop,come what may
No one I know would stand a chance
To pull you up and make you dance

Shade of grey

It was a cold October night
I saw your face in different light
There  was a sparkle in your eye
It was almost begging me to cry

Suddenly,the chilly air
I felt it sting and could not bear
The truth I once denied with force
You blinked and life changed its course

Whatever happened in those days?
You saw the sun and caught the rays
The fire built up in your heart
I pushed "forward",you "restart"

Now I am stuck and you are walking
You can't hear me but I'm talking
My whispers are as loud as breath
Your big eyes hunt me like a threat

And as your heart is catching fire
I just give in and cut the wire
You were to me what words can't say
I was to you a shade of grey

Review:Geanta de organizare obiecte izolata termica/Car organizing bag

Hello!
A couple of weeks ago I received for review a car organizing bag from a Romanian shop that sells anything car related. As I'm not really an organized person ,this bag really comes in handy.I received the package 2 days after I applied.

When I got it,it was in this practical plastic bag that has a little hanger. The bag was folded up and there was a description of the product in several languages on the red cardboard. The bag has 3 big compartments, one of which is thermally insulated.
Compartimentul izolat termic are si "acoperis",deci il poti inchide cu fermoarul ca sa pastreze temperatura:
The thermally insulated compartment can be closed with a zipper so it keeps the temperature as it should:

As far as I have noticed, the compartments are of the same size and I think there is enough space to fill with food for a family of 7 :) The bag has handles on either side so you can take it from the car to wherever you want. Two people are required to move the bag ,though.
On the bottom,it has velcro so it sticks to any textile surface.

Ok..so..:D It is practical, capacious and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to organize objects in his/her car or any other space!

I love coincidences ☺

Hi guys! :)
How's your week-end going?Hope you're enjoying a sunny, warm day..I'm typing this as I listen to the rain .The weather in this part of the world has been unusually moody and rainy .

We did have a couple of nice days this week and I took advantage of that by going on a 2 day long hike with my father. You probably don't know this but I'm a big hiking fan(it probably has something to do with growing up seeing the forest everyday ..just a guess :p).

We planned on going to the highest peak in Romania which is Moldoveanu Peak (2544 m).The peak is located in Fagaras Mountains (now for a little bit of a geography lesson ^^) in the Carpathians. What really struck me about these mountains,or this peak to be more specific,is that we met more foreigners than Romanians.Apparently , people come from other continents to see the peak.It was really interesting to see different kinds of coins that people left there or reminders that they have been there.
We started climbing on Wednesday at 10 or so in the morning and it took us approximately 8 hours to get to to the place where we would spend the night before leaving for the peak the next day.It was an extremely tiring experience seeing as I was not "fit".The last time I had went hiking was more than a month earlier and it wasn't as difficult.Still, pain or no pain,we made it to the hut in one piece and I couldn't be more grateful for a hot soup and a bed.I do admit it was one of the most cold and uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in but ,hey,in those circumstances it was a luxury hotel.

Can you see the hut?It looks so tiny :D
The main reason why I wanted to spend a night in the mountains was to see the sunrise from up there. So,consequently, after taking a walk(more like an obstacle ride) along the lake shore next to the hut,we went to sleep at about 9 .

The lake in the morning

The sun trying to peak from behind the clouds
We woke up at 6 or so in the morning  and climbed our way to the peak accompanied by a dog and really cold/windy/foggy weather. The rest is just a whirlwind of excitement, snow, fear, intense pain, happiness and gratitude.
Our companion that we shared lunch with

I broke my record of walking/hiking 12 hours in a day  as I managed to walk for almost 14 hours. Both my dad and I were limping like we had just come from some sort of war by the time we reached the city where we left our car.But we still had 2 km to go and I was already feeling like I was about to give up and just doze off and sleep in the middle of the road for the night.

Thank God,I did not give up and a really kind man gave us a ride for the last 2 km.

Now,to the second story:the one about coincidences. I really love them, and this time a coincidence helped a lady find her dogs .

On our way up,on Wednesday, a kilometer or so from the place we parked our car,we ran into 3 dogs in the middle of the forest. They looked well-groomed and two of them had leashes,so we just assumed some evil person abandoned them there because he didn't want them anymore. One of them was hurt and it was crying all the time. They started following us and eventually we gave them food and became best friends :D They were our companions for five hours until we reached this hut :
That was when we  ran into a herd of sheep and two herdsmen. My dad thought it was best to talk to the herdsmen and convince them to keep the dogs there. At least they would have food and a place they belonged to.They didn't follow us after that.
Two of the dogs

On Thursday(the next day),as we reached a village, after 13 hours of walking,I decided to stop and sit on a rock.Just then, a car stopped next to us and the woman who was driving asked us if we hadn't seen a dog.
We said no.My dad asked how it looked and then the woman described 3 brown dogs. They were 3?If only the woman knew where her dogs were now. My dad explained everything and the woman looked relieved but still concerned as her dogs were so far away. Apparently, her nephews released the dogs from their leashes and they ran away ..

It's just amazing to think that if we hadn't run into the dogs that day and walked on that road at the same time the woman was driving on it the next day,no way on Earth would she have ever found them.I just hope she or someone close to her climbs up to that hut and gets the dogs back.

Amazing how some things work out,no?

Sweet 'n' Sour :Lemon Cupcakes Recipe

Hello, darlings! On this cold Monday afternoon I thought about sharing another cupcake recipe.I really like the taste of lemon in a cupcake .This is perfect for enjoying on a hot summer afternoon on the beach with a glass of whatever you fancy :) But honestly,it's tasty no matter the season.

Now that I'm finally over with all the exams and have just started my 3 month long vacation,I will be cooking/baking more but most of all ,travel :) That's what summer is for.

Moving on now..this is what you need for your lovely lemon cupcakes:

  • 250 grams of all- purpose flour(250 grame faina)
  • 240 ml milk( 240 ml lapte)
  • the zest of 2 lemons( coaja a 2 lamai)
  • 60 ml lemon juice(60 ml suc de lamaie)
  • 4 egg- whites( 4 albusuri)
  • 300 grams of granulated sugar(300 grame zahar granulat)
  • 115 grams of butter( 115 grame unt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract( 1 lingurita extract de vanilie)
If you have everything ready , what are you waiting for? Let's start mixing everything :P
First of all, preheat your oven.I preheat mine a couple of minutes before putting the  cupcake batter in because my oven doesn't show the temperature.(I have an ancient oven).

Steps:

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt.(Amestecati  faina, praful de copt si sarea)
  2. In another bowl, mix the milk, lemon juice and egg whites .(In alt vas, amestecati laptele, sucul de lamaie si albusurile)
  3. In bowl number 3,mix the lemon zest with the sugar.Add the butter, take a hand mixer and mix for about 3 minutes.Add the vanilla extract.(In vasul numarul 3,amestecati coaja de lamaie cu zaharul.Adaugati untul si amestecati cu mixerul in jur de 3 minute.Adaugati extractul de vanilie)
  4. In bowl number 3,pour one third of the flour and mix. Then pour one half of the milk-lemon juice-egg-whites mixture and mix yet again. Then pour another third of the flour, the other half of the milk mixture and  finally the last part of the flour-baking powder-salt mixture.Make sure to mix well anytime you add .(In vasul #3,turnati o treime din faina si amestecati.
  5. Mix everything one more time at the end.(Amestecati totul onca o data la sfarsit)
  6. Pour the batter in cupcake liners and put them in your preheated oven for about 18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.( Turnati compozitia in hartii pentru briose si puneti-le  in cuptorul preincalzit in jur de 18 minute sau pana cand scobitoarea iese curata)
Result

Enjoy your cupcake!

Portrait: Shakira

Hi guys!
I finally went through my portrait "collection" a couple of days ago and added a new one of Shakira.
Looking back on the first portraits I've ever made I see a big difference between my most recent ones and the old ones. I'm really happy to see this development :)
There are portraits I can't even look at without saying "How could I have even posted this on my blog? It's so bad !" :)

But ,hey, people learn from their mistakes (or they should) and I'm aware that I still have a lot of mistakes to correct.

Anyways, without further ado, this is my portrait of Colombian singer Shakira:

I'm also running out of inspiration for which celebrity I should draw next. I know,I know,  there are plenty of celebrities out there but it would mean more to me if I draw someone you would really like to see.

So please leave requests in the special section in the menu or by leaving a comment down below.

Thanks for checking out my blog and have a peaceful and relaxing  Sunday !

The artist in us!(Gift idea)

I think I'm not mistaken when I say that most of us were "artists" when we were children.I remember it was so fascinating to take a colored pencil and draw something that didn't resemble what I wanted to draw at all :)

It is such a nice feeling when a child comes up to you with his or her drawing and proudly explains what each and everything is and looks at it as if it's a masterpiece. My definition of art is the will to create beauty out of anything.
I will start a series of posts about some nice gift ideas for that special someone in your life.
I started my blog as an "arts" blog, focusing on my portraits and other drawings. I remember drawing the first portrait I posted on my blog on Christmas Eve 2011. :)

Today,I can suggest you a gift that would bring a smile on the face of both children and adults.

Brookstone has this really awesome art set that is definitely suitable for children and grown-ups.You could give it as a present to your 6 year old nephew or niece, your teenage daughter or your artist friend. It is recommended for ages 3 and up and the great thing is that the colors are all non-toxic.
The set contains  18 colored pencils,8 watercolors cakes ,12 oil pastels, a sharpener and an eraser.

I remember loving oil pastels when I was a kid.It didn't matter how messy I would get after using them. I always used  them on my coloring books or just to scribble on a piece of paper. Then, when I got older I switched to colored pencils, which I still use now for my portraits.

I think this is a really fun, creative gift.I really love gifts that mean something to the person you're giving them to.I would get more excited for this than for chocolates or wine or home decorations :)

Maybe you will take this into consideration next time you have a birthday or a big event coming up.Bring a smile to an artist's face ! :)

My favorite crepes recipe!

Hello and happy Monday to you! :)
The week has just started and I have my first exam tomorrow. What plans do you have for this week?

Sometimes, when I'm in the mood for something sweet and quick to make,I opt for crepes( a thinner kind of pancake). There are many recipes for crepes out there but this is the one that I like. You will need:

  • 240 ml milk(240 ml lapte)
  • 2 tablespoons of  granulated sugar(2 linguri zahar)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt( 1 lingurita sare)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract(1 lingurita extract de vanilie)
  • 3-4 teaspoons of yogurt(3-4 lingurite iaurt)
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest(1 lingurita coaja de lamaie)
  • 110 grams of all purpose flour(110 grame faina)
  • 1 egg(1 ou)
Now that you have these, mix them all in a bowl until you get a mixture with the consistency of a more liquid cream.Heat some oil in a pan and pour a ladleful of the mixture in the pan. Then you know the drill :)
You will have about 6 crepes resulting from the mixture.

Fill it with whatever you want and dig in!:D

Favorite Friday: Nail Polish(1)

Hello ,lovely people of the world!:)
How's your weekend going? It's raining and cold here ..

I know I haven't done a Favorite Friday in a long time, but today I'm back with a "beauty" item : le nail polish.
I have experimented with make up,but it always felt weird to have a layer of something on my face,so I stopped using foundation or BB cream or whatever is similar to these.I tried mascara ,but seeing as my eyelashes are already naturally long, they ended up looking "spider legs" scary.

But of course,I have to have a weakness :) and that is nail polish. I can't go a day without having nail polish on my nails. My mood is always brightened up when I look down at my nails and see a pretty color.

These are 5 of my favorite nail polish shades, from the top left corner:
1.Orly Glowstick
2.MaXFactor Sunset Orange
3.Orly(I can't find the name of the dark red one,it rubbed off the package)
4.Golden Rose Paris #222
5.Kinetics Grey,no Pink( great name :p)

Which one of these is your favorite?:)

Liebster Award

Hey there :)
I was excited to be awarded a Liebster Award by the wonderful Danica! Thanks so much!
If you don't know how this works, I have to answer 11 questions that Danica asked, say 11 facts about myself ,make up 11 questions and give other 11 bloggers this award. Notice how I use the words "award"and "11" too much? :D

Anyway, moving on to the questions that Danica asked:
1. What is your favourite color? My favorite color is purple. I started liking it when I became a fan of a local football(soccer) team that had a purple-white equipment  but it still is my favorite now after I lost interest in the team.
2.Dogs or Cats? That's a hard one :) I think dogs are more energetic and cats lazier. But because I had a couple of nasty experiences with dogs,I pick cats.
3.Most Favourite Book? The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje. I think it was the first book that made me want to see the  movie, too. And I rarely watch the movie and read the book.
4.What is the Place you want to visit?Since I love traveling,I'm not picky about my travel destinations. To name a few: Israel,Italy, the USA,Australia,Finland(I'm actually going there this summer)
5.Is your blog related with your life or work?Maybe,a little bit. I do artistic "activities' in my everyday life and that reflects in my drawings and posts.
6.What would you blog about your city? There would be some things I could blog about like cultural events, concerts, landmarks, the history of the city .
7.How do you plan your posts?I don't really plan anything. If I get an idea for a blog post while I'm on the computer,I just write it.If I get an idea throughout the day,I'll most likely forget it before I get home :)
8.What would you DIY?Clothes. I think it would be fun to make my own clothes .
9.Do you have ambitions for your blog? If so, what are they?I just want to see it grow and I want to start writing more posts and also diversify the topics I discuss on my blog.
10.What advice do you have for someone who wants to start a blog?If that's what you want and if it makes you feel good, just do it.It doesn't matter that in the first few months you probably won't have a lot of people reading your blog.In time,if you write content that you're passionate about, people will start noticing.Think of it like this: Your blog is like a public  diary(minus the intimate details :P)
11.Do you write and photograph all your content? Not all of it,but I try to put photos that are my own.And yes, mostly, what I write is my own.
11 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF1.I like watching (and occasionally) playing football very much.I grew up more like a tomboy than a girly girl :)
2.I can't go a day without singing and I would like to join a choir someday.
3.I think that mint filled chocolate and tomato soup are the best things ever :)
4.I enjoy hiking and traveling. I would jump at the chance of going on a tour around the world(preferably in more than 80 days)
5.I insisted on getting my driving license as soon as possible but I'm scared of driving.
6.I rarely fall asleep when I'm in a vehicle even if I haven't  gotten any sleep in a long time and I'm extremely tired.
7.I dream almost every night and I remember dreams that I had 6-7 years ago.
8.My favorite literary genre is non-fictional(mostly psychology)
9.I have no siblings.
10.I want to break a world record somehow :P
11.I'm a religious person.

And now,11 questions that you, dear blogger that I nominate, will have to answer:
1.What is your favorite thing about the season in which you were born?2.Water or soda?3.What types of movies do you enjoy?4.What is a talent that only a few people know you have?5.What determined you to start blogging?6.How do you define love?7.Jeans or leggings?8.What is one thing you like about your hometown?9.Did you go/are you going to college? What did you study/are you studying?10.If life gave you lemons, what would you do? :P11.Do you still see yourself blogging in 5 years from now?

My Perfect Imperfection TAG (RO/EN)

Hello! :)

How are you?I hope you're having a wonderful week-end!I have a new tag for you(thank you ,Oana, for tagging me). That being said, let's get on to the rules:
  • Enumera 3 defecte fizice ,imperfectiuni care te deranjeaza/List 3 physical flaws that you have and that bother you
  • Numeste 3 calitati fizice ,lucruri care iti plac la tine/Name 3 physical qualities of yours that you like
  • Vorbeste despre ele, exact de ce te deranjeaza iti plac, modul in care te fac sa te simti/Talk about them, what exactly bothers you,why you like those qualities, the way they make you feel
  • Da tag-ul mai departe altor 5 persoane/Tag 5 people

I can say that the 1st thing that bothers me is my nose, the 2nd one is my myopia(that counts as an "eye flaw") and last but not least my flatfoot.

2.Acum sa trecem la partea mai frumoasa a tag-ului :) In  categoria calitati as include buzele, culoarea ochilor si parul.
Now,on to the more beautiful part of the tag :) In the "qualities" category I would include my lips,my eye color and my hair.

Let's get into detail :) My nose is a combination between a long and a bottle nose and has been "getting in my way" ever since I was a child :) I think it's the part of my face that has always bothered me.
-In 2005 I went to the ophthalmologist for the 1st time and found out that I take after my dad concerning myopia. When I was in elementary school I always had trouble seeing what was written on the blackboard .I got prescription glasses and wore them until 2008,when I decided that going to high school with glasses would be "uncool" ,so I stopped wearing them.I got the glasses I'm wearing today in 2010 and I don't think I'll change them to soon :)
As for the flatfoot, I found out about it in 2011 when I went to an orthopedist for another leg "problem".I bought some inserts to put in my shoes, but I rarely remember to move them from one shoe to another :)

As for the qualities, there is not much to say.My eyes are dark-brown-almost black and my hair is black(at the moment it's a reddish black)

Overall,I've learned to accept myself the way I am ,with the good and the bad.Just as the quote in the image says" Accept yourself" :)

Hai sa ne cunoastem mai bine/ Let's get to know each other (TAG)

Salut!
Hey!

For the first time, I was tagged by Oana. The questions in the tag are wonderful because they allow us to get to know each other better and at a deeper level.

Deci,sa incepem:

Lets begin:

Describe your life,as it is today,in just one word : Stuck- I don't know if it's a good word to describe life but I feel like I'm stuck at this point in my life and I can't move forward.Maybe this happened because I took some decisions under pressure and now I'm doing something that doesn't make me happy instead of following my dreams.

If you were able to "meet" God and could ask him just one question, what would this question be?: What is my "role" in life?

People say "Never say never" but you are convinced that you will never: give up my values and beliefs to please a person.

4.Cum ai defini iubirea in cat mai putine cuvinte?:Reciprocitate, comunicare si valori  comune.

How would you define love in as fewer words as possible? Reciprocity, communication and similar beliefs.

If you were able to trade a flaw for a quality, which would these be? I would trade stubbornness for courage.Stubbornness is an obstacle for personal growth, while courage helps you move forward.

6.Daca o persoana iti face rau in mod intentionat, cum reactionezi?

If someone hurts you willingly, how do you react?Do you do the same thing he/she did to you or forgive him/her?: On the moment,I would probably want to take revenge and I would try to figure out why they did it but in the end I would forgive that person t o have a clear conscience.

Did you ever ask yourself what your "role" is in this world? If yes,did you find the answer?:Yes,I've asked myself that many times.I think living a life without a "role" and a goal is an empty life,I thing it's a typical question for students  who are trying to find "their place" in life. And no,I haven't found the answer to this question yet but luckily I've still got time.

What would you change at people?: Their alienation from faith and moral beliefs.

9.Daca ai putea da timpul inapoi ai schimba ceva din trecutul tau?: Sunt parti din trecutul meu care as fi dorit sa fie altfel, dar nu a stat in puterea mea sa le schimb. Dar ceea ce s-a intamplat in trecut m-a facut sa fiu omul care sunt astazi si chiar daca am defecte pe care cred ca le-am dobandit pe parcursul vietii mele de pana acum, stiu ca daca nu le-as avea pe acestea ,as avea altele. Oricum, toti ne luptam cu defecte.

If you were able to turn back time, would you change something about your past?: There are parts of my  past that I wish would have been different, but I was not in control of them. What has happened in the past made me the person I am today and even if I have flaws that "I picked up" along the way,I know that if I didn't have these,I would have other flaws.Everyone "fights" with their flaws.

Who is the person you admire the most?: Probably my mom. I admire her for getting over the hard times in her life and still managing to be patient .

What do you do when you see a person you don't know crying?: Of course, we are all humans ans my first instinct is to console him/her but I'm not brave enough to  do that.I also get sad because it's  normal  " to cry with those who cry".

(Cam multe intr-o singura zi,stiu :) )

If you found out that you had just one more day to live, how would you spend it?: I would probably try to help as many people as I can with a smile, a good deed and try to do a recap of my life.I would ask for forgiveness of the people I did wrong to(if I can reach them) and I would try to do some things that I've always wanted to do ( I know, too many things in one day :) )

Ai realizat ceva din tot ceea ce aveai in plan?:  Acum 5 ani eram in primul an de liceu.Probabil ca prima mea dorinta era sa-l si termin :) Si am reusit asta.

Think about how you were 5 years ago, what dreams and aspirations did you have? Did you make any of your dreams come true?: 5 years ago I was a freshman in high school. My first wish was probably to finish high school :) And I did that.I also wanted to get my driving licence as soon as possible. And I did that ,too.At that age, your dream are kind of...limited.I can't remember any other aspirations I had.

If you were able to find out anything about your future, what would you want to know?: Nothing.I like the unknown, the spontaneous.I couldn't stand knowing about something before it happened.

You are bothered when someone else does it,but you do it yourself: When you're trying to have a conversation with someone and the other person doesn't  come up with topics and seems totally disinterested. Unfortunately,I do that sometimes but I'm "fighting" this flaw.
